At Bassingthorpe we have always strived to work with Strong Cow Families with Type and Production.
Cattle & Embryos are always available.
The farm is located in North Lincolnshire and includes 150 cows.
Interesting facts about the farm at Bassingthorpe include:-
- 640 acres
- 380 acres arable
- 200 acres grass
- 60 acres maize

- Herd fed a mixer wagon ration, incorporating grass and maize silage, a protein blend, beet pulp, rolled wheat, and a pea and bean meal. Out of parlour feeders provide top up

- Twice a day milking, with a herd average (ending Sept 2008) of 10,781kg in 305 days at 4.00% fat and 3.16% protein
|
- Sire selection is based on using the best bulls available, with limited use of young bulls.
|
- Our own cow families have bred well, especially the Desdemona's and Pauline's which have seen embryos sold to Canada, and bulls enter AI here in the UK
|
